The “Study in Europe” meeting held on April 20, 2026, in New Delhi was a dynamic and engaging platform that brought together stakeholders from India and across Europe to strengthen academic collaboration and mobility. Prof Bramanandam Manavathi, Director, Office for International Affairs represented University of Hyderabad in this meeting.
The morning sessions focused on a range of international collaboration opportunities, highlighting key programs such as DAAD, SPARC, GIAN, and Erasmus Mundus. Speakers provided valuable insights into funding mechanisms, joint research initiatives, faculty exchange programs, and pathways for institutional partnerships. The role of Association of Indian Universities (AIU) in internationalisation of education as also featured. These discussions offered participants a comprehensive understanding of how to effectively leverage these initiatives to enhance global academic engagement.

The latter part of the meeting featured an interactive matchmaking session, where participants had the opportunity to engage directly with representatives from over 50 European universities. This session enabled meaningful one-on-one interactions, fostering potential collaborations, student exchange opportunities, and joint academic ventures. The Europian University Viadrina Frankfort (Oder), Germany, The Varna University of Management, Bulgaria, Vilnius Gediminas Technical University, Lithuania, Universite’ Marie et Louis Pasteur, France, University of Twente, Nederlands, etc. are among the Universities that expressed interest in collaborating with the University of Hyderabad. Further discussions to be setup with them to establish the academic and research partnerships.

Overall, the meeting was highly productive, facilitating knowledge exchange, networking, and the development of future partnerships. It reinforced the shared commitment to expanding international cooperation and creating impactful global education opportunities.
