Dr. Remya R. Nath, MD (Ayu.), Research scholar, Dept. of Sanskrit Studies, working under the supervision of Prof. JSR Prasad at the Department of Sanskrit Studies, School of Humanities, recently presented a paper at World Health Congress-2023, held at Prague during 15-17 September, 2023, through online mode. The World Health Congress is a global event in the area of traditional, complementary and integrative medicine (TCIM). The motto of the 3rd edition of the congress, which was held in hybrid form, is accomplishments and current trends in TCIM for the 21st-century cultural heritage of the past for the future.

Dr. Remya presented a joint paper with her supervisor titled “A Critical Analysis on Doshic Prakriti in Ayurveda.” In this study, they tried to connect the concept of Prakriti, one of the fundamental principles of Ayurveda, with Genomics. The study highlighted the need and importance of the use of machine learning techniques in Ayur-genomic research. About 2000 delegates from 55 countries, joined the online Congress out of which 370 of them joined the offline Congress.
Dr. Remya R. Nath is a postgraduate in Ayurveda (Panchakarma) from the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bengaluru. She has been working on developing a mental health scale based on Triuguna principles as part of her thesis work.
