Prof. B. Ananthakrishnan, Professor of Theatre Arts, S. N. School has been awarded Erasmus Mundus fellowship to carry out research on dramaturgy in transnational context at University of Amsterdam, Netherlands.

The proposal is an initial step to establish a long term partnership with Department of Theatre Studies, University of Amsterdam and Department of Theatre Arts, University of Hyderabad with a focus on dramaturgy in performance practices. The scholarship is meant for academic professionals to carry out research in collaboration with the host university and to formulate future academic trajectories in the identified areas of research.

Specialized in Indian performance studies Prof. B. Ananthakrishnan has published articles on Indian Theatre in the journals like Theatre India, Theatre Research International and contributed articles to different anthologies and Encyclopedia like Encyclopedia of Asian Theatre, Edited by Sam Leiter, Greenwood, Westport, 2007. As the executive committee member (2009-2013) of the International Federation for Theatre Research (IFTR) and general secretary (2003-2013) of Indian Society for Theatre Research (ISTR) he has taken up different research initiatives in theatre research to foster the research culture in the field. Currently he is the Indian project leader of UK India Educational Research Initiative (UKIERI) supported partnership project between Wimbledon College of Arts, University of the Arts London and University of Hyderabad on ‘Scenography in Digital Age’.
