JoBeth Ann Warjri, currently a Ph.D. student with the Department of English at the University of Hyderabad has won the first prize in the Book Review Literary Trust’s most recent short story competition, for her short story “Megalomania”.
The Prize carries a cash award of Rs 10000/-.
JoBeth is working towards finishing her Ph.D. project on the poetry of Maya Angelou under the supervision of Prof Anna Kurian. She is currently a faculty at North East Adventist University, Jowai, Meghalaya.
The Book Review Literary Trust was set up in 1989. It runs seminars, lectures and publishes literary works in translation. Among the more well-known ones are the translations of Gurajada Appa Rao’s Kanyasulkam, Potheri Kunhambu’s Saraswati Vijayam and Bankim’s Kapalakundala. It also publishes the highly respected periodical, The Book Review.
