Prof. Balasubramanian Senthilkumaran, Head, Department of Animal Sciences, School of Life Sciences-CAS, University of Hyderabad, Hyderabad has been conferred the prestigious DBT-TATA Innovation Fellowship-2014 by the Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Government of India for his outstanding research contribution in unraveling the sexual development, plasticity, gametogenesis and endocrine disruption using various fish models.
The DBT-TATA Innovation Fellowship is an acclaimed award conferred by the Government of India to few selected senior Indian bio-scientists of less than 55 years of age. The award is given annually for those who had unique and significant contributions for the development of state-of-the-art technology in basic and applied areas of biotechnology through demonstrated activity in the form of publications in internationally peer-reviewed reputed journals or patents.
