The Internal Complaints Committee (ICC), University of Hyderabad organised the third programme under its SAHAS Gender Sensitization initiative, in collaboration with the Women’s Safety Wing of the Telangana Police. This programme was organised on 18th August, 2026, at 3 PM in the classroom of School of Engineering Sciences and Technology (SEST). More than 170 students from the School of Physics and SEST attended the programme.
Ms. Asiya Sherwani, Head SAHAS Team, Women’s safety Wing, Telangana Police and Advocate Ms. Shravani, member SAHAS, addressed the students. Inspector Ms. P. Surekha also attended the workshop. The PoSH Act, the nature of actions that amount to sexual harassment and how to report such complaints to the institutional ICC were explained eloquently with examples. The workshop was highly interactive with the active participation from several students. The Dean SEST, Prof. V.V.S.S. Srikanth; Prof. Jai Prakash Gautam, faculty of the SEST and Lalitha Guruprasad, Presiding Officer, ICC attended the programme.
