Survey carried out among 600 plus universities by Careers360, a publication by the Outlook Group

 

University of Hyderabad (UoH) more popularly known as HCU has been rated high among India’s Outstanding Universities for the year 2013 as per a survey carried out by the Outlook group publication, Careers360 and published in their March 2013 issue.

The survey rates the UoH at fourth position among the Public Universities given five * * * * *rating by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). More than 600 universities were researched for the publication record from Scopus and Web of Science, patents (both granted and approved). Further, the research output and citations of the faculty were taken into consideration along with rating of the universities in the survey.

 

The University of Hyderabad has presently 5000 plus students, 400 plus faculty and 900 plus non-teaching staff. The faculty of the University are well-known and their total publications as on date have crossed 15000 since inception. The University has filed more than 20 patents in India/US and the UK, out of which 8 have been granted. It has more than 400 research projects valued above Rs: 115 crores.


Prof. Ramakrishna Ramaswamy, Vice-Chancellor, UoH expressed his delight with this recognition of the University’s reputation and said that “we need good faculty to mould and guide the students of this country. If the country has to move forward, it must have enough research universities that create knowledge”. He further added that”there is a need for more universities like UoH, to help the country realize and identify what is important for our progress.”
