Prof. Zahidul Haque, faculty in the Department of Urdu at University of Hyderabad (UoH) is appointed by the Ministry of Culture, Govt of India as the Director of the prestigious Khuda Bakhsh Oriental Public Library at Patna. He assumed charge in the forenoon of 1st June 2026. He took charge from the in charge Director, Prof. Siddharth Singh who is presently serving as the Vice Chancellor of the Nav Nalanda Mahavihara (Deemed University of the Ministry of Culture, Govt of India).
The Khuda Bakhsh Library is a national treasure, housing some of the world’s most rare manuscripts, breathtaking Islamic art, and invaluable literary history.
