The University is often described as a ‘Research University’. Research Performance and output has to be improved at PhD Scholar and Faculty levels, since rankings depend heavily on high-impact, heavily cited publications and patent rights.

· We are discussing ways to incentivize research performance. Faculty have been asked to supply their work/project plans for the next three years and submit a yearly progress report on these plans, so we can have a consist workflow in research.

· Faculty are also being encouraged to have projects, and to approach agencies that fund research – the University is likely to streamline the fund- and grant-writing/application processes to help Faculty.

· The University will lay greater insistence on publication in high-impact journals.

· The University also plans to showcase its research output better.
