The School of Management Studies, University of Hyderabad (UoH) has organised a three day International Conference on “Changing Paradigms in Marketing of Services with special focus on Tourism and Hospitality” during January 10 to 12, 2017. The International Conference concluded with a valedictory program organised on January 12, 2017 at Plaza Hotel, Paryatak Bhavan, Begumpet, Hyderabad.

Prof. Jagdish N Sheth, Charles H. Kelistadt Professor of Marketing, Goizueta Business School, Emory University, USA 8, Director of WIPRO, was the Chief Guest, and Guests of Honour said that marketing is all about packaging presence and presentation. Prof. Jagdish said that the tourism in India 120 billion dollar industry it employs 37 million people. By 2020 it will be bigger than It industry. He also said that We have a functional need in Medical Tourism as well as in education and there is a huge potential.

Prof. Furqan Qamar, Secretary General, Association of Indian Universities (AIU), New Delhi said that Possibility of trans-national migration is the biggest challenge we are facing today. Globally near 5 billion have been studying outside their own country and from india about half a billion go out to study 40% going to US. Prof. Furqan said that India has advantage and possibility of intake of foreign students. India has substantial appreciation for the higher education.

Shri M. Gopala Krishna, IAS (Reid.), Chairman, INTACH and IIPA, Telangana Branch said that Government is interested in socio-economic marketing. Academics should look for partnership and alliances for research and training. Shri Krishna said that SMAC – Social Mobile Analytical Technologies has made communication easy and cheap. Information, influence, interest, involvement, Inculcate are the requisites of any process.

Prof. B. Raja Sekhar, Dean, School of Management Studies, UoH presided over the valedictory session while Prof. V. Venkata Ramana, faculty in School of Management Studies and Conference Director proposed a vote of thanks.
